A new portal will be available starting July 1, 2022, for submitting GIS electronic deliverables to Houston Public Works. The GIS deliverables are required for projects that are proposing or modifying assets identified in Chapter 13 of the IDM that are or will be operated and/or maintained by the City. Use of the new portal is not required, though encouraged, for construction projects that commenced prior to July 1.
The new portal provides templates for contractors to submit electronic deliverables in coordination with existing city permitting and contracting processes. After downloading a template, an external tool like ArcGIS Pro can be used to edit the file and add submission data before saving and uploading it to the portal.
When uploading a file, it is automatically checked for viruses or invalid data. Contractors will receive updates via email on the status of their submissions.
