In accordance with City of Houston policy, most permit, license, and registration fees will increase by 1.3910% effective January 1, 2026. This increase is based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI).
Select Updated Fees:
- Administrative fee: $33.56
- Minimum fee for most Building Code Enforcement permits: $91.06
- Minimum fee for plumbing permits: $97.56
Important Information:
- Single Trade Permits: Applications submitted before January 1, 2026, will be grandfathered under the 2025 fee structure.
- Construction Plans: Plans submitted prior to the effective date must meet all prerequisites to qualify for 2025 fees.
- Mailed Invoices: Fees will reflect the rates in effect on the invoice date.
