Houston Public Works Building Code Enforcement (BCE), in coordination with the Houston Fire Marshal’s Office, has published a new form, Deferred Submittal of Standpipe Systems (CE-1450), for construction projects that use a deferred submittal process for standpipe system drawings.
The form is required when standpipe shop drawings are submitted at a later stage of the project. The completed form must be uploaded with the supporting documentation listed on the form.
Key items to note:
- Deferred standpipe submittals must comply with requirements and maintain a temporary standpipe during construction, along with required inspection coordination
- A deferred standpipe hold may remain in place until the deferred submittal is submitted and approved.
