This example drawing identifies what is needed on the roof to be compliant with solar - ready provisions. Residential plan analyst will be expecting to see something like this in the plans for any new homes that have roof spaces of at least 600 sq ft that are oriented within the specific 270 to 110 degrees of true north identified in the code appendix. In general, it means roofs planes facing the southern sky.
