
Effective July 1, 2025, the Houston Permitting Center will expand its digital payment options and update its transaction fee model.
What’s Changing?
- More ways to pay online and in person using digital wallets will be available, including:
- All electronic forms of payment made through iPermits, GeoLink HUB, or in person will now incur a transaction fee. To avoid fees, customers may pay by cash or by paper check.
Here is the breakdown of the transaction fee:

- Credit and debit cards and digital wallets
- 2.30% per transaction, with minimum $1.50 per transaction
- Transactions below $1.00 will not be accepted
- Electronic checks or Automated Clearing House (ACH)
- $0.50 per transaction
- Credit and debit cards and digital wallets
Returned item fee is $24.00 per transaction for all electronic payment methods.
