The Identity Verification Unit no longer accepts requests for Clearance letters via email or postal mail. Any requests for Clearance Letters must be made in person with original documents.
Effective October 1, 2021:
The Identity Verification Unit will no longer provide Clearance Letters. All individuals needing documentation of any criminal history, or proof of no criminal history, will be referred to the Texas Department of Public Safety: https://www.dps.texas.gov/section/crime-records-service/crime-records-general-information
