The Houston Fire Marshal's Office provides plan review, inspections, and compliance services to help ensure buildings meet applicable fire and life safety codes.
The following teams are located at the Houston Permitting Center and participate in the Building Code Enforcement plan review process:
- Hazardous Materials (HazMat) and High-Piled Storage
- Fire Alarm and Sprinkler Systems
In addition to Plan Review services, the Fire Marshal's Office conducts inspections of commercial facilities throughout the City of Houston.
The Fire Marshal's Office also serves as the point of contact for Emergency Responder Communication Coverage (ERCC) compliance, including the review and verification of ERCC documentation, approved test results, reporting forms, and related compliance inquiries.
