Electronic Plan Review
The City of Houston is going paper free! Applying and submitting plans online is now required for:
- Residential building construction projects (except One-Stop projects)
- Sign projects
- Electronic locks projects
- Residential solar panel projects
- Commercial building construction projects (except One-Stop projects and existing phase projects)
Applying and submitting plans online is optional for projects within the City's right-of-way or tying to City utilities (Office of the City Engineer) until December 2, 2019. On and after this date, all new projects must be submitted online.
Our goal is to complete the transition to paperless plan review in 2020. We encourage you to try it before it's mandatory. We offer hands-on workshops, in-depth user guides, live chat, and a support team ready to help you with any issues.
