A manufactured home reconnect permit is required when the electrical service is disconnected, transferred from another address, there is a change of providers, and when the customer's name on the account changes.

After Approval

After the manufactured home reconnect inspection is approved by the electrical and structural inspector, the permit is released to Centerpoint Energy.

Conditions and Exceptions

In order for the reconnect application to be processed, the manufactured home must be in a licensed manufactured home park. The customer must provide the manufactured home's year, size, serial number and hud number.

The following information must be provided on the application:

  2. Size and Year
  3. Space Number,
  4. Serial Number,
  5. HUD Number
Inspection What you need

Inspector access is required to perform the inspection. Proof of placement date must be presented or current standards will be used.

The following are among the items inspected:

  • Smoke detectors must be working and installed in each room according to HUD standards.
  • Each set of stairs attached to the manufactured home must meet code. No temporary steps are allowed.
  • Electrical Inspector will inspect the exterior electrical service to ensure it meets code requirements. If deficiencies are found, an electrical permit may be required. The permit will need to be obtained by a registered electrical master.

After the inspection is performed and approved, contact your electricity provider at the appropriate phone number and CenterPoint at 713-207-2222 from 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. Utility releases are sent at 10 a.m., 2 p.m., and 4 p.m.
