Bulkheads Permit
It shall be unlawful to build, erect, alter or make major repairs to any bulkhead on or in the lake unless a construction permit has been issued by the public works official. Bulkhead means a retaining wall designed to retard erosion of and prevent the banks of a lake from sloughing off.
All bulkheads shall be subject to periodic inspection by the public works official.
(1) A complete application. (2) Proof of insurance, if required; (3) Financial assurance, if required; (4) All applicable fees; (5) Copies of applicable state and federal permits, licenses and authorizations; (6) Plans, specifications and such other documents, as applicable; and (7) A copy of any approvals obtained from the Parks director and the City Council, if required.
Bring the application and supporting documents to the Lake Houston Office, located at 22627 W. Shorewood Loop Dr., Huffman, TX 77336. Once plans are approved by the Lake Houston Office, they are routed to the Kingwood Office to complete the permitting.Permits are paid for online.
An application for a bulkhead construction permit must include a plat showing the property lines and the layout of the bulkhead.

Upon completion of construction, schedule an inspection.
