Mobile Food Unit Medallion
This is the permit to operate any type of mobile food unit including food trucks, food trailers, ice cream trucks, fixed location units and carts
Medallion is affixed by inspector in public view on the rear of each mobile unit. Non-scheduled/unannounced inspections are conducted. Renewal invoices are sent 30-45 days prior to expiration date.
If an inspection is failed, a reinspection fee of $101.06 is charged along with an admin fee of $29.72.

for new or new to Houston unrestricted units--submit plans and specifications at the Environmental Permits Office at 8000 N. Stadium first floor (77054). For restricted units go to 7427 Park Place (77087) on any Tuesday or Thursday between 7:00 and 10:00 AM

Submit all required documents for the information packet to the appropriate location.

1. A renewal invoice is mailed 30-45 days prior to the expiration date. It is the responsibility of the owner/operator to contact the Health Department prior to expiration date if an invoice is not received.

1. Fill out the bottom of the invoice and include the check (money order, cashier check, business check) to P.O. Box 300008, Houston, TX 77230-008; Once payment is processed a permit will be mailed to the address on file.

Any outstanding balances must be paid prior to or at the same time the permit is renewed. A zero due balance is required to generate the invoice.
