On December 1st, 2021 City Council approved an ordinance changing how the fees for one- and two-family dwellings are calculated based on square footage. The permit applications will now include two square footage boxes; one for new construction and one for remodels or alterations.
Effective immediately, permit applicants will be required to provide total square footage for new construction, and when applicable, the total aggregate area associated with interior alterations of existing portions of a structure. Where both interior and exterior alterations to an existing building are being proposed, the remodel square footage box shall be filled with the higher of the total aggregate area of either the interior area or exterior area of the vertical alterations proposed.
